For the love of Hunter green

Hello and welcome back to Episode 2 of The Stitch Goddess Podcast.

I've made a lot of progress on current projects recently, and I'm really pleased with the results.

To start, I'm joined my local quilt/fabric/yarn/fiber arts shop, Atomic Fibers - for their January 2018 Challenge: clean up your crafting space! My sewing room was a disaster zone bit of a mess... and I'd been thinking about trying to tidy it up for a while. Well, I'm so glad I did!

I love how everything is tidy (for now) and how I can see exactly what I have. It brings me so much joy to be in this room now!

Finished Objects

  • Sunny Dress : pattern by Friday Pattern Company | fabric by Miss Monochrome from Stitchybee. Thank you, Cheryl! I'm really very pleased with this finished object.
  • Ultimate Shift Dress : pattern by Sew Over It | fabric from stash. This is what I'd call a successful failure. I was very happy with the pattern, but it's really rather shapeless on me. I think it makes for a good muslin, and perhaps it might fit when I lose 50 pounds...

I have a thing for hunter green...apparently. As I was winding the skein of Tidal yarn, I noticed that 1) it was very close to the color I'd painted our dining room and 2) very, very close to Madelinetosh Snake. Photos don't lie...

  • Awesome Ocean Quilt : pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. I'm doing this as a class - a quilt-along? - at Atomic Fibers. This month, I finished Preppy, the whale.
